Resolution is the phase of an encounter in which the encounter's outcome is acted upons. Losing ships are sent to the warp, while winning ships either return home or claim colonies (depending on whether the offense or defense won). Encounter cards are then discarded.

Various aliens have powers that take effect during Resolution.
